Schneider has updated its TeSys D range with the TeSys D Green range, which features lower energy consumption and AC/DC coils, meaning that each coil can be powered by either alternating current or direct current.

To facilitate upgrades and achieve greater energy efficiencies, the new range is backward compatible with all TeSys D accessories and support products and offers compatible low-energy contactors that support between 9 and 80 A and control voltages from 24 to 500 V AC or DC.

Designed to take up less space in machines and electrical cabinets, this range offers several advantages. For example, a low control current means lower energy consumption, with a coil power of only 0.5 W at 24 V DC, greatly contributing to the machine's energy efficiency. Furthermore, a special contactor that supports between 40 and 65 A connects directly to the PLC control, as the device can be operated with a common 24 V DC/500 mA static output, eliminating the need for a relay interface.

The range, which meets the SEMI F47 standard, offers greater resistance to power surges and interruptions, providing increased uptime. The contactors feature reduced contact bounce, as the devices maintain the same shock and vibration resistance as the Tesys D range.

Other notable advantages include consistent opening and closing times, regardless of voltage fluctuations, ensuring reliable and repeatable operation. Furthermore, when maintenance is required, a TeSys D Green can replace many standard contactors.
