The high resolution makes the Z4D sensor ideal for office equipment for paper thickness detection and multi-feed detection, as well as for ATMs; also for displacement detection in industrial automation systems, consumer electronics and other applications.
The new Omron Z4D-C01 optically locates objects without contact. Location is determined and movement detected by changes in the location of light reflected from the object. The exceptional resolution is based on an Omron proprietary optical design that utilizes triangulation. This structure achieves excellent and stable linearity between output voltage and distance, thus simplifying circuit design. The output is stabilized by a signal divider.
The Z4D-C01 can detect objects located up to 6.5mm away from the sensor.
