OptoForce's two new 6-axis sensors are lightweight, robust, and easy to install. Once operational, they equip robots with tactile feedback, enabling them to perform high-precision tasks such as polishing and part insertion. The HEX-E and HEX-H now feature improved calibration, greater accuracy, and a mounting plate that allows for up to 5x overload (compared to 2x overload previously). OptoForce also offers a new control box in which the old Ethernet connectors have been replaced to enhance the sensors' computing power and make them more compatible with robotic arms from Universal Robots, KUKA, and ABB.
Available at the same price as the previous models, the new sensors will replace the older models in the catalog and maintain compatibility with existing applications, in addition to the two new applications announced by the company: light bulb insertion with a 'fix and rotate' function, and insertion of various types and sizes of connectors, including Ethernet, mini USB, and mini HDMI. This application allows the robot to insert connectors or cables with the precise force needed to avoid damaging the connection. Along with the launch of the two new sensors, OptoForce will release a new cable clamp, positioned at a 90° angle to protect cables from damage and wear. “We have updated our sensors to provide a better user experience for our customers,” said Ákos Dömötör, CEO of OptoForce. “Each sensor features enhanced overload protection, new integrated mounting plates for compatibility with KUKA and ABB robots, and a control box with greater computing power.”.
OptoForce's philosophy of developing advanced, high-quality robotics products has enabled the company to join the International Federation of Robotics (IFR) as a 'supplier'. From now on, OptoForce will participate in IFR meetings on the robotics market, among other topics. "For us, joining the IFR is an excellent way to gain a deeper understanding of different markets and their needs," concludes Ákos Dömötör.
