Silicon photonics is one of the key emerging technologies driving the growing demand for internet traffic and higher data rates. The primary applications for silicon photonics are in the data center market, driven by big data and cloud applications, but it is expected to be used in other areas, including healthcare, LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) in automotive applications, optical computing, and quantum computing.
“Anticipating the growing market demand for silicon photonics, Keysight is announcing the first test solution for the large-scale silicon photonics production market,” said Shinji Terasawa, vice president and general manager of Keysight’s Wafer Test Solutions group. “Our NX5402A test system is the first solution to combine Keysight’s electrical and optical measurement science with the fiber alignment and positioning system integrated by Keysight’s PathWave Semiconductor Test software.”
Keysight's new NX5402A Silicon Photonics Test System offers the following key benefits:
- Complete solution: Provides proven measurement technologies and direct support capabilities including integrated optical and electrical testing capabilities and the Keysight-developed fiber alignment and positioning system based on Keysight's measurement science.
- Fully automated: Eliminates manual operation thanks to PathWave Semiconductor Test software that is compatible with SPECS software , facilitating silicon photonics testing in a single pass.
- Ready for large-scale production: Features such as factory automation software, safety lock and cleanroom availability aid in its use in manufacturing, providing a high measurement rate based on a multi-channel optical and electrical testing architecture, as well as optimized fiber alignment.
Proven system performance: Maintains high accuracy, repeatability, and replicability from the laboratory to production, offering advanced wafer-level calibration, as well as reliable performance monitoring with integrated automated system diagnostics
