The optional Z3210 wireless adapter can be installed to enable Bluetooth® wireless communications with smartphones and tablets, while GENNECT Cross, a free application from Hioki, can be used to review, manage, and create reports using measured values.
Lead-acid batteries must be inspected periodically, so managing the resulting measurement data is essential. However, it is very easy to make mistakes when measuring and recording values at sites with a large number of batteries, negatively impacting efficiency by requiring technicians to return and repeat measurements.
Battery Measurements:
Furthermore, data management was made more laborious by the lack of a simple solution for linking measurement data to measurement locations.
Today, the adoption of renewable energy has increased as companies work toward a sustainable society, and the demand for lead-acid batteries for use in energy storage applications is expected to continue growing in the future.
To address these issues and optimize the increasing maintenance workloads, Hioki developed an audio recording and measurement guide to assist in the measurement process, as well as in the profile logging functionality.
Functions:
1. Measurement and Recording Guidance to Avoid Backtracking and Redoing: When paired with GENNECT Cross, your smartphone or tablet will provide an audio guide announcing the next battery to be measured based on the profile (including location, device, and battery number information). This feature prevents sequencing errors and provides audio announcements of the test results. Measurement data is automatically recorded on the instrument and sent to your smartphone simultaneously. As a result, measurement and recording can be performed quickly and reliably.
2. Profile Recording Function for Easy Data Management: By recording profiles with GENNECT Cross or the included GENNECT ONE desktop application and transferring them to the BT3554-50 before measurement, you can link measurement data and diagnostic results to the profile data when saving. This capability simplifies data management, even when performing diagnostic work with a large number of batteries.
3. Patented measurement technology for accurately assessing lead-acid battery degradation: Typically, measured values will not stabilize if the UPS is running due to the effects of noise from nearby inverters. Hioki's patented noise reduction technology enables accurate measurement, even in noisy environments.
