CAN Bus and LIN Bus are the most widely implemented bus systems in motor vehicles. While CAN Bus is used for critical, safety functions, LIN Bus is used for low-risk, low-security functions, such as integrations within the door or seat area.
New upgrade options, such as bandwidth upgrades or Serial Bus Decoding, help reduce initial investment costs and facilitate the transition to the MSO/DS4000 range. It's possible to start with a less expensive, lower-bandwidth model and upgrade later as needs change. A typical scenario is simply changing the test signal frequency to higher values.
Rigol offers three upgrade options, which are available for DS models as well as for the 4000 series MSO (mixed signal oscilloscope) models.
This extension can also be used with scopes that have already been purchased. The only requirement is that the latest firmware version is installed on the oscilloscope. This allows users to test and evaluate a low-cost Rigol oscilloscope for a first-hand experience and share the results with the relevant personnel. Later, they can decide to upgrade, for example, to a higher bandwidth model if needed, to handle a more complex and faster application.
Furthermore, until March 31st, Rigol Technologies is promoting a "Buy One, Get All" offer, allowing customers to purchase the complete software package for the price of the lowest-priced option. The following serial bus decoding software options for the MSO/DS4000 series include: RS232/UART, I2C, SPI, CAN, LIN, and FlexRay. Customers can save up to €2,333.
The following options are included free of charge when you purchase a new MSO/DS4000:
1. BND-MSO/DS4000
2. BW2T3-MSO/DS4000 - Bandwidth Upgrade: Purchase a 200 MHz oscilloscope (DS/MSO402x) and receive a free upgrade to 350 MHz.
3. BW3T5-MSO/DS4000 - Bandwidth Upgrade: Purchase a 350 MHz oscilloscope (DS/MSO403x) and receive a free upgrade to 500 MHz.
