Despite the challenging circumstances related to the coronavirus pandemic, the facilities were handed over at the end of December, as planned. This allowed production of the award-winning AC charging cables to begin in early January, perfectly aligned with the steadily increasing demand for electric mobility products. In 2020, nearly 200,000 new fully electric vehicles were registered in Germany. Including plug-in hybrids, the total number of new registrations reached almost 400,000. "Each of these vehicles comes with an AC charging cable in its trunk," said Christoph Paetzold, project manager of the new Rzeszów facility. "Furthermore, incentives and subsidies are turning the expansion of home charging infrastructure into a regular boom across Europe. These measures are further boosting sales of AC charging cables. Needless to say, we are very pleased to have completed the construction in Rzeszów in record time, thanks to excellent collaboration with Panattoni and the local government, which allowed us to start work right after the New Year. The team has already produced the first batch of our AC charging cables. We are preparing to install more systems in the coming weeks and to hire more employees. Thanks to its excellent location in the Dworzysko Science and Technology Park and its well-developed infrastructure, our facility is expected to become a major hub in the Phoenix Contact E-Mobility production network. Simultaneously, further investments are being made to expand production capacity at our headquarters in Germany.".
The new facilities in Rzeszów have a total area of 15,000 m², divided into 14,000 m² for production and storage and 1,000 m² for offices. The workforce is expected to grow to more than 250 employees in the coming years.
