The ADH series converts an 800 V DC input to a 50 V DC output, operating at a switching frequency of several MHz with a maximum energy efficiency of 98.2%. The converters offer up to 8 kW peak power and 6 kW full-load power in a standard half-brick package, providing a peak power density of over 2700 W/in³ and a full-load power density of over 2000 W/in³.

“The data center industry’s shift to an 800V DC power architecture requires a new wave of innovation to deliver highly optimized power for next-generation AI servers,” said David Richmond, senior vice president of high-volume products at Advanced Energy. “Working closely with several leading customers, we have developed and delivered samples of the ADH converters and plan to expand the portfolio with additional power levels and form factors. Advanced Energy is driving a comprehensive portfolio of 800V DC power conversion solutions designed to meet the critical demands of this emerging energy paradigm.”.

The new ADH series is designed to take advantage of advanced liquid-cooled motherboards for optimized thermal management. Its standard form factor and ability to connect modules in parallel allow for significant power scalability. The ADH series design also includes the critical safety isolation required for systems operating at hazardous input voltage levels.

By combining the ADH series with the NDQ series of ultra-efficient 50V DC to 12V DC non-isolated bus converters (NIBCs) and the newly developed Hot Swap Control (HSC) module, which manages inrush current and provides additional protection features, Advanced Energy offers complete 800V DC power solutions that enable higher power levels and the increased power density required for megawatt-capacity AI server racks.
