The new converters with frame size FS AA have a total depth of 108 millimeters and power ratings of 0.12, 0.25, and 0.37 kW, while those with frame size FS AB have a total depth of 128 millimeters and power ratings of 0.55 and 0.75 kW for single-phase operation at 230 V. The converters are optionally available with an integrated C1 EMC (electromagnetic compatibility) filter, allowing them to be used in residential and commercial environments in accordance with DIN EN 61800-3. The new Sinamics V20 is suitable for industrial applications such as pumps, fans, compressors, and conveyor belts. These compact converters can also be used in residential and commercial environments—for commercial applications such as refrigerated display cases, exercise equipment, ventilation systems, and commercial washing machines.
Other outstanding features of the Sinamics V20 include speed, easy commissioning, simple operation, and robustness. The "Keep Running" mode enables continuous operation, even with an unstable power supply. An improved cooling system and coated printed circuit boards provide the high degree of mechanical and electrical robustness required for use in harsh environments. The compact frequency converters can be connected to a higher-level controller via the integrated Modbus RTU/USS interface.
The two new frame sizes now make it possible for the Sinamics V20 to be available in a total of seven different housing sizes, each optimized for power within the range of 0.12 to 30 kW, and for single-phase 230 V and three-phase 400 V supply system operation.
Siemens has launched the Sinamics V20 converters in frame sizes FS AA and FS AB, the smallest the company has offered on the market to date. Measuring just 68 mm wide and 142 mm high, Siemens has substantially reduced the frame size of the Sinamics V20 for low-power motors.
