The NEX13120FPC-Q100 offers exceptional thermal performance thanks to its low 600 mV dropout voltage at 100 mA, resulting in 15 mW of power savings per channel and a 5°C reduction in operating temperature. This dropout voltage is 200 mV lower than that of similar competing LED drivers under the same test conditions. The NEX13120FPC-Q100's independent channels can supply up to 100 mA of 8-bit programmable output current and can be connected in parallel for applications with higher current requirements. This LED driver supports phase-shift pulse-width modulation (PWM) for improved load transient response and reduced electromagnetic interference (EMI). Configurable analog dimming and PWM dimming can meet a variety of application requirements, including dynamic animation effects.
Long-distance external communication at data rates up to 2 Mb/s is supported by the UART (Universal Asynchronous Receiver/Transmitter) via a digital Controller Area Network (CAN) interface, which can support up to 27 node addresses. The NEX13120FPC-Q100's comprehensive diagnostic features include LED open circuit detection, short-to-ground detection, and single-LED short circuit detection. Additionally, a configurable watchdog timer automatically places the device into a fail-safe state if the CAN bus connection is lost.
The NEX13120FPC-Q100 can operate in a junction temperature range from -40°C to +150°C and is housed in a 24-pin HTSSOP24 package with thermal enhancement. The NEX13120PC-Q100 is identical to the NEX13120FPC-Q100 and is suitable for applications without functional safety requirements at the chip level.
