The new TC7766WBG has been designed for use in mobile devices, such as smartphones, tablets, and a wide range of mobile industrial devices.

The TC7766WBG enables fast wireless charging, with charging times similar to, and in some cases shorter than, wired charging. This is achieved by increasing the power reception capacity by a factor of three, compared to existing products[3], while maintaining a small footprint.

In addition, an I2C interface on the receiver[4] compatible with the host controller can exchange information with a compatible transmitter to allow the user to be notified of the wireless charging status through the mobile device screen.

Housed in a WCSP28 package measuring just 2.4 mm x 3.67 mm x 0.5 mm, the TC7766WBG features a range of host protection functions, as well as all the rectifier circuitry and drivers necessary to build a self-contained wireless power-transfer RX system. The device is manufactured using Toshiba's original state-of-the-art CD-0.13 process.

With a maximum output current of 1.7 A and adjustable output voltage of 5 V-14 V, the new receiver is compatible with Toshiba's TB6865AFG 5W transmitter IC[5], as well as other 15 W wireless charging transmitters that comply with the Qi v1.2 standard[6].
