High-speed operation allows customers to operate at higher switching frequencies and design efficiency-enhancing SiC and GaN switching platforms. The device also employs differential sensing for high immunity to external magnetic field disturbances and is available in three surface-mount package options, optimizing for low-noise, high-isolation, or lowest-in-class internal power loss.
“There’s no longer a need to compromise on speed, accuracy, and power density,” explains Bob Briano, Product Line Manager at Allegro. “This new product family has it all in user-friendly surface-mount packages. The ACS37002 sets a new standard that design engineers will truly appreciate.”
The ACS37002 is ideal for demanding green energy and industrial vehicle applications, such as:
• Solar power inverters;
• On-board charger power factor correction;
• DC/DC converter loop control;
• High-voltage xEV inverters.

The combination of high electrical performance, advanced packaging, and factory calibration makes the ACS37002 a complete solution for many challenging applications. Allegro's factory-programmed plug-and-play functionality enables designers to achieve faster time to market in the increasingly competitive high-efficiency and green energy automotive markets.
High performance simplifies the design of fast-switching power conversion systems.
Faster switching improves efficiency in most power conversion applications, made possible by the increasing adoption of SiC and GaN switches. Allegro created the ACS37002 in direct response to this trend by maximizing the speed of the Hall plates. A higher-speed current sensor with high accuracy and DC stability allows for tighter control of the motor or power converter control circuit, improving overall system efficiency. By enabling faster switching, the ACS37002 also helps designers reduce overall system size.
"With the trend toward increasing efficiency in the automotive and green energy sectors, we're seeing more and more designers adopting SiC and GaN," Briano explains. "This device's 400 kHz bandwidth allows designers to accurately detect these faster switching currents."

Integrated features simplify design and reduce system size.
Factory calibrated with a high degree of integration, the ACS37002 also helps designers reduce system size and time to market by decreasing the design cycle time. The ACS37002 integrates a variety of features, including:
• Fast overcurrent fault detection for system reliability;
• Reference output for accuracy in noisy environments;
• Four selectable sensitivity settings per pin on a single component, which can reduce inventory part numbers in platform products.

The ACS37002 is available in three different SOICW-16 packages:
• The LA package is optimized for higher sensitivity and lower noise;
• The MA package provides high isolation of 4.8 kVrms;
• The MC package is Allegro's newest, combining best-in-class lead resistance of 0.27 µΩ and the highest insulation rating of 5 kVrms for applications where ultra-low power loss and reinforced high isolation are required.
