The ST ACEPACK IGBT modules, available from Mouser Electronics, come in two compact configurations and feature ST's third-generation trench-gate field-stop IGBTs. Designers have a choice of six-unit modules containing six IGBTs with freewheeling diodes as a three-phase inverter, or PIM (Power Integrated Modules) modules that provide a complete controller power stage. The PIM modules are converter-inverter-brake (CIB) modules that integrate a three-phase rectifier, a three-phase inverter, and a braking chopper to manage the energy returned by the load. Both types of modules also contain an NTC thermistor for temperature sensing and control.
Available in ACEPACK 1 or larger ACEPACK 2 sizes, with 650V or 1200V IGBTs and current ratings from 15A to 75A, these optimized IGBT modules offer low leakage inductance and electromagnetic interference (EMI) emissions to simplify compliance with electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) regulations. An operating temperature rating of up to 175 degrees Celsius ensures robust performance under the harshest operating conditions, giving designers the freedom to optimize heatsink size and power dissipation. The package backplate is also isolated to 2.5kV for easier assembly design.
