The Microchip ATECC608B crypto-authentication device, available from Mouser Electronics, can operate pre-loaded with cryptographic keys, securely storing them in embedded and IoT devices, or as a cryptographic processor, executing secure cryptographic algorithms without burdening the host microprocessor or microcontroller. The device includes several security features, such as optimized key storage and authentication, ECDH security protocol, and ECDSA signature verification authentication. It also features a 256-bit SHA/HMAC hardware engine, a 10.5 kbit EEPROM for secret and private keys, and a guaranteed 72-bit unique ID.

The ATECC608B device is currently available in 8-pad UDFN, 8-pin SOIC, and 3-pin contact pack versions, offering extremely low power consumption with a wide supply voltage range of 2.0 to 5.5 V. The device is integrated into a hardware design along with the host microprocessor and interfaces directly with the host via the I²C bus.
