They can be combined with a motor control microcontroller and MOSFETs to create a complete system for a wide range of applications, such as pumps, fans, blowers, cordless power tools, gardening tools, and cleaners.

The new products incorporate a circuit that can drive three-phase high- and low-side N-channel MOSFETs. The MOSFET drive current can be adjusted from 10 mA to 1 A (peak) for the source current and from 20 mA to 2 A (peak) for the sink current, although operating conditions such as ambient temperature and supply voltage may limit the actual usable drive current. All devices support an operating supply voltage (VM) range of 8 V to 75 V. This selection of different voltage and current combinations covers a wide range of applications.

The series is available with either an SPI or hardware control interface. In the TB67Z83xHFTG and TB67Z85xHFTG devices, internal functions are controlled directly via dedicated hardware pins, while in the TB67Z83xSFTG and TB67Z85xSFTG, an SPI interface is integrated for communication with the devices and control of internal functions.

The standby current of the devices is as low as 1µA (max.), minimizing power consumption when not in use and maximizing standby time for battery-powered applications. Integrated protection circuitry, such as undervoltage lockout and thermal shutdown, protects the devices themselves. Additionally, gate drive fault detection and overcurrent protection safeguard the external MOSFETs, enhancing overall system reliability.

Housed in 6.0 mm x 6.0 mm QFN40 packages, the TB67Z833SFTG, TB67Z833HFTG, TB67Z853SFTG, and TB67Z853HFTG devices integrate three channels of current-sensing amplifiers, reducing the number of external components in the system design. For applications that do not require current-sensing amplifiers, the TB67Z830SFTG, TB67Z830HFTG, TB67Z850SFTG, and TB67Z850HFTG devices are available in even more compact 5.0 mm x 5.0 mm QFN32 packages.
All devices can operate reliably at temperatures ranging from -40 °C to +125 °C, making them ideal for use in industrial environments.

Toshiba will continue to develop products for a wide range of applications and provide solutions that contribute to simplifying design, reducing board area, and lowering overall cost.
