• The MA12040P (for supply voltage ranges of 4 to 18 V) and the MA12070P (for supply voltage ranges of 4 to 26 V), suitable for battery-powered speakers, wireless and docked speakers, soundbars, and multi-zone/home theater systems. Both feature an embedded digital power management scheme with an algorithm that dynamically adjusts the switching frequency and modulation to optimize power losses and electromagnetic interference across the entire power output range. Integrated digital-to-analog converters enable I2S digital audio input transmission. The amplifiers support sampling rates from 44.1 kHz to 192 kHz and offer protection against DC current, short circuits, and overheating and undervoltage events. Flexible “power mode profiles” allow the user to utilize multi-level switching to achieve either very low power loss or very high audio performance. The complementary MA12040 and MA12070 are also available for analog inputs.
The easy-to-use EVAL_AUDIO_MA12070P audio evaluation kit includes everything needed to evaluate the MERUS™ 80W 2-output, multi-level, energy-efficient digital input Class D amplifier (MA12070P). The integrated circuit is specifically designed for high-performance audio applications without filters or heatsinks and is suitable for applications such as voice-controlled audio and professional audio where maximizing dynamic range and audio performance while minimizing power dissipation and loss is essential.
