These robust devices incorporate internal protection circuitry, including current limiting and thermal shutdown, preventing damage even under the most extreme operating conditions and ensuring safe and reliable performance.
The devices optimize transient response characteristics to less than 10%, ensuring a constant output voltage in applications when the input power supply or load current changes. These excellent features allow the new devices to replace Holtek's older HT72xx, HT78xx, HT73xx, and HT1015-1 models.
The new regulators are available in SOT-23-5 and SOT89 packages and support a minimum output capacitance of 1 µF.
Due to their energy efficiency, the new series of regulators is ideal for portable applications, wireless devices, battery-powered devices, and computer peripherals, as well as small household appliances. Their compact 5-pin SOT-23-5 package is especially attractive for portable and pocket-sized applications where a space-saving design is required. Although primarily designed as fixed voltage regulators, they can be configured with external components to obtain variable voltages and currents according to application needs.
