Both network-enabled modules can be rapidly developed into almost any design, including Internet of Things (IoT) applications. The Microchip MRF24WN0MA and MRF24WN0MB wireless modules, available from Mouser Electronics, offer a range of up to 300 meters with low current consumption of 64 mA (typical) in receive (RX) mode and 246 mA at 18 dBm (typical) in transmit (TX) mode. The devices provide associated radio frequency (RF) components, including a crystal oscillator, passive bypass and bias with integrated MAC, RF, and power amplifiers, baseband, and built-in hardware support for encryption. The MRF24WN0MA module is approved for use with an integrated PCB trace antenna, while the MRF24WN0MB module includes an ultra-small W.FL coaxial connector and is approved for use with a specific certified external antenna. Microchip's MRF24WN0MA and MRF24WN0MB wireless modules have received FCC and IC modular approval and are also R&TTE Directive-evaluated radio modules for operation in Europe. Modular device testing can be applied to final product certification and the Declaration of Conformity (DoC). The modules are available in a 37-pin surface-mount package measuring 17.8 mm × 26.7 mm × 2.2 mm. Caster-style surface-mount pads enable easy and reliable PCB mounting, and both modules are ideal RF wireless solutions for low-power, low-data-rate Wi-Fi sensor networks, home automation, industrial controls, consumer electronics, and medical and fitness applications.
