The PD69104A is the most integrated and energy-efficient 4-port PoE solution on the market. It operates completely autonomously without the need for a host processor or microcontroller-based system management, allowing switch and router vendors to add PoE functionality to their systems with minimal or no software development. While geared toward small systems, the PD69104A features easy-to-use UART and I2C host interfaces, enabling its use in larger systems where overall system power management is handled by the host processor.
“Our refreshed product line, now expanded with the PD69104A, allows customers to cost-effectively and efficiently add PoE+ to new applications such as residential gateways and small business routers,” said Daniel Feldman, PoE Marketing Director for Microsemi’s Analog and Mixed Signal Group. “The combination of dynamic power management and emergency power management in a 4-port product allows PSE suppliers to create products with extremely small power supplies, thus enabling end users to configure their systems in the operating environment and according to the specific requirements of the devices to be powered.”

“The PD69104A offers customers developing smaller products the same level of performance that our dPD69108 PSE PoE Manager provides to switches with eight or more ports,” said Paul Pickle, Corporate Vice President and General Manager of Microsemi’s Analog and Mixed Signal Group. “We’ve leveraged the technology used in previously announced PoE devices to design the PD69104A and provide a more comprehensive product offering for vendors developing PoE PSEs for 1 to 96 ports.”.
