The new PI34XX buck regulators, optimized for 12V operation (input voltage from 8V to 18V), enhance performance in numerous embedded applications in computing, telecommunications, industry, and other environments, achieving peak efficiency exceeding 95% for 12V to 3.3V regulation up to 15A.
The integration of a high-performance ZVS topology in a high-density SiP (System-in-Package) package (10mm x 14mm x 2.6mm) improves DC/DC conversion at the point of load by reducing switching losses associated with conventional hard-switching buck regulators. This reduction in switching losses results in a more efficient, higher-density regulator that is also easier to use. The PI34XX series buck regulators integrate control circuitry, power semiconductors, and support components into a single-phase package (SiP), requiring only an external inductor and minimal capacitors to create a complete DC/DC buck regulator in switched-mode.
