These devices are suitable for numerous applications, such as PLCs (programmable logic controllers), measuring/control equipment and other equipment that requires a high-speed digital interface.
Both devices achieve data transfer speeds of 5 Mbps (TLP2312) and 20 Mbps (TLP2372) and are specifically designed to operate on low-voltage rails starting at 2.2 V. This allows them to function at the lower voltages used by many peripheral circuits, such as 2.5 V LVCMOS, as well as accept voltages up to 5.5 V. This eliminates the need for a separate power rail for the optocouplers, thus reducing the number of components and the space required.
The new optocouplers, characterized by a low threshold input current of 1.6mA (max.) and a low supply current of 0.5mA (max.) within their operating temperature range of -40℃ to +125℃, can be directly controlled by microcontrollers to reduce power consumption. Both devices offer an isolation voltage of 3.75kVrms for safety.
The new optocouplers are supplied in a 5-pin SO6 package with a maximum height of 2.3mm, a low profile suitable for applications with height limitations and greater freedom to place components on the printed circuit board.
