Buck converters require few additional external components since the necessary inductor and capacitors are already integrated into the module. Therefore, the complexity of the circuit design is reduced, shortening development time. The bill of materials (BOM), storage costs, and production costs are also minimized.
Five MagI³C power modules offering variable output voltages are currently available from Mouser Electronics.
The family features auto-reset for overvoltage and overcurrent, as well as thermal shutdown. The MagI³C-Vdrm variable output voltage modules have an input voltage range of 6V to 42V and an output voltage range of 0.8V to 24V. The modules feature adjustable switching frequencies between 200 kHz and 800 kHz and a programmable soft start for added flexibility. Output currents up to 5A are possible.
Examples are provided in the technical data sheets so that engineers can ensure their design complies with EN55002 Class B EMI standards.
