The Allegro ATS668 features integrated EMC protection components to provide an easy-to-use solution for true zero-speed digital gear tooth detection. It is available in a small, overmolded package that can be easily mounted and used with a wide range of gear tooth detection applications. The ATS668 is designed for automotive transmission systems, making it ideal for non-automotive applications such as recreational vehicles, industrial equipment, household appliances, and fitness equipment.
The device incorporates a dual-element Hall-effect IC. The IC contains sophisticated compensation circuitry designed to eliminate the detrimental effects of magnets and system offsets. Digital processing of the analog signal provides air gap-independent zero-speed performance and dynamic adaptation of the device's performance to the operating conditions encountered in automotive applications (i.e., vibration and runout). High-resolution peak-sensing DACs are used to set the device's adaptive switching thresholds. Hysteresis at thresholds reduces the negative effects of any magnetic signal anomalies associated with system or target anomalies.
The fully integrated package and industry-proven algorithm make the ATS668LSM an ideal solution for a wide range of speed detection needs. This device is available in a lead-free (Pb) 3-pin SIP (SM) package with a matte lead chassis cover.
