In response to the growing demand for higher levels of reliability, safety and flexibility for LED thermal management in combination with an ultra-compact design, ROHM has developed the industry-leading BD18336NUF-M automotive LED driver.

"ROHM is embracing the market trend towards miniaturization with its latest LED driver without compromising safety features and performance," says Stefan Drouzas, Senior Marketing Manager Automotive, ROHM Semiconductor GmbH.

Its monolithic design ensures stable illumination during battery voltage drops down to 9V. The configurable current bypass function prevents the LEDs from turning off, maintaining a minimum brightness at all times and thus contributing to greater driving safety. An ultra-compact 3.0 mm² package reduces the mounting area by 30% compared to conventional solutions using external circuitry, while providing a high current output of 600 mA.

An integrated current reduction function suppresses the heat generated by the LEDs. The adjustable thermal output current limits the heat generated by the LEDs, increasing their lifespan, making the LED driver ideal for white, red, and yellow LEDs.

Therefore, the BD18336NUF-M is the ideal LED driver for ultra-compact designs, such as interchangeable plug-in lights or modular lights, providing superior performance for the most demanding environment.
