The new TC7764WBG supports a maximum power output of 5W and is compatible with the Qi low-power specification V.1.1.2 standard, defined by the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC). This standard includes a specification specifically for smartphones and mobile accessories.

Wireless charging allows for a completely sealed case free of exposed charging ports, an advantage that is driving demand for waterproof and dustproof wearables such as smartphones and tablets. However, wireless charging has not always been as fast as wired charging.

To overcome this difference, Toshiba has optimized the design of the TC7764WBG IC, increasing the maximum output power to 5W and achieving a maximum power conversion efficiency of 95%. This allows mobile devices to charge wirelessly as quickly as if they were connected to a wired charger.
To ensure the safety of mobile devices, the IC integrates a Qi protocol authentication circuit for power transfer, foreign object detection, low voltage lockout (UVLO), overvoltage detection (OVLO), and thermal shutdown (TSD) functions.

The IC has a WCSP28 package measuring only 2.4mm by 3.7mm by 0.5mm.

Notes: Qi is the international standard for wireless charging, defined by the Wireless Power Consortium
