In this new series of controllers with integrated CNC functionality, the integrated Sysmac platform has been expanded to include CNC functionality, enabling complex, high-precision profiling and increasing the production capacity of processing machines.
OMRON's integrated CNC controllers offer both CNC and PLC functionality, and synchronize both processes at high speed.
Furthermore, by adding CNC configuration and G-code programming to its Sysmac Studio platform, OMRON also provides a true integrated development environment (IDE) for configuration, programming, monitoring, and 3D simulations. The platform includes Function Block1 for CNC, which simplifies the programming structure, enabling synchronization between CNC and other processes while reducing development time.
Features 1. Minimizing Machine Cycle Time • A single controller executes programs for both PLC and CNC in a single control period, enabling process synchronization. • Blocking time (waiting time during communication) between CNC and other processes can be reduced by up to 75% compared to solutions using individual controllers. 2. Simplifying Complex Profiling • Versatile CNC functions, including 3D interpolation and position compensation, enable high-precision, complex profiling. • G-code functionality allows CNC programs automatically generated by CAD/CAM software to be imported directly into the controller. This significantly reduces the time required to design and program complex profiling solutions. 3. Minimizing Development Time • CNC configuration and G-code programming are available in a true integrated development environment (Sysmac Studio) for configuration, programming, monitoring, and 3D simulation. This allows machine processing programs to be developed and debugged using a single software application. • Function blocks for PLC functionality, motion control, and NC simplify programming structure and enable synchronization between CNC and other processes. • The intuitive user interface reduces setup time.
