clv65dual port-wWith the CLV615 Dual Port, SICK expands its flexible range of fieldbus solutions for identification sensors. A barcode scanner with PROFINET Dual Port already integrated into the housing now complements the existing PROFINET on Board Single Port for barcode scanners, camera-based code readers, and RFID devices. This means that, to integrate the scanner into a ring topology, either the existing solution with the external CDF600-2 fieldbus module or the variant with Dual Port on Board can be used, as required. Thanks to the 4Dpro multi-technology platform strategy, all devices are compatible in terms of network connectivity and can be networked with other SICK ID sensors.

With a scan rate of up to 1,000 readings per second and a reading range of 25 mm to 330 mm, it is ideal for intralogistics. Even in space-constrained environments, the compact housing with a swivel system connector makes it easy to mount. In addition to the two Speedcon-compatible PROFINET connections (M12 female connector), an integrated power cable with an M12 male connector provides a simple power supply via a flat cable. A total of five LEDs provide detailed status information for both the scanner and PROFINET, allowing for quick and accurate troubleshooting.

In addition to the typical direct configuration in the control environment (via GSDML file), this scanner can also be configured using the SOPAS ET user interface. Diagnostics and reconfiguration are easily performed via an auxiliary USB interface, as well as the two Ethernet ports. Identical control and software structures and the same configuration can be duplicated across other sensors, saving time and thus accelerating commissioning. If the barcode scanners are installed in a ring topology, the redundant configuration ensures that the system continues to function even in the event of a temporary cable or field device failure. This is possible because the CLV615 Dual Port supports the redundant communication protocol, ensuring continuous data traffic to all devices on the network after a short switchover time.
