Fiber optic detection, which uses optical signals and fibers instead of electricity and copper, offers improved safety, longer transmission distances, and immunity to electromagnetic interference.
With special encapsulation, these FBG sensors increase strain sensitivity (greater accuracy), combine stability and reliability, and can be easily integrated into multipoint measurement networks.
The new D-01 models also feature a strain range of 10 to 80 mm, a resolution of 0.05 percent FS, an accuracy of 1 percent FS, a temperature range of 0 to +85 °C, and a wavelength of 1530–1565 nm.
Furthermore, these sensors are available in plastic tubes with diameters from 25 to 250 mm, FC/PC and FC/APC connectors, and a stainless steel housing.
