sensor-ismosys-wThe Crocus CTSX product families offer numerous advantages over conventional sensor technologies, including:
• Patented differential programming
• High resolution
• High sensitivity – significantly higher than Hall effect sensors
• Low hysteresis
• Excellent linearity
• Excellent frequency response
• Non-contact AC and DC current sensing capability
• Low power consumption
• Operating temperature up to 250°C – unmatched by competing products

The new devices are ideal for position, rotation, and speed detection applications, and are also the perfect choice for switching and current sensing applications, where they can be used to replace bulky coils and transformers. Evaluation boards for sensing applications will be available by the end of August 2014.

The Crocus Technology CTSX magnetic sensor product portfolio currently comprises three families of devices: CTX100 Series, CTX200 Series, and CTX300 Series; all of them feature high sensitivity and excellent linearity, along with an input resistance of 70Ω, and an output resistance of less than 1kΩ, 25kΩ, and 25kΩ respectively.

The CTX100 series is designed exclusively to operate with a 1.2V power supply, while the CTX200 and CTX300 series devices are capable of working with a supply voltage between 1.2V and 15V. All three families have a 16-pin QFN package.

The CTSX Series magnetic sensors are capable of meeting the needs of a wide variety of market segments including: smart meters, RCCDs, solar junction boxes; power monitoring in server and storage networks; power and battery charging monitoring in electric vehicles; current/voltage monitoring in power supplies; detection of stall current in power tools and monitoring of opening/closing/tampering of the same and on enclosures of all types.
