The NINVA sensor uses the surface temperature of the pipes to infer the process temperature and provides the same level of accuracy and performance as an invasive measuring device.

The NINVA TSP341-N temperature sensor, now SIL2 certified, is an evolution of the TTH300 temperature transmitter and offers new features based on customer feedback. These include remote mounting configuration, increased vibration resistance, optional configurations for applications up to 550°C (1022°F), and simplified calibration and maintenance thanks to removable measuring elements that allow for independent calibration and adjustment of the sensor.

Clamps for pipe diameters from 40 mm to 2,500 mm and special designs for diameters less than 40 mm that avoid thermowell designs for smaller pipes without sacrificing accuracy or performance.

In the words of Dr. Guruprasad Sosale of ABB Measurement & Analytics: “Customers are driving the market for non-invasive process measurement. The need for measurement is growing, and companies in the chemical, oil, and gas sectors worldwide value the ability to not have to stop the process or drill into pipes to gain more information. By turning a piece of process pipe into a temperature measurement point, NINVA provides a simpler and safer way for plant operators to measure process temperature without compromising performance: no shutdowns, no drilling, and dramatically simplified engineering.”

Thanks to its clamping system, NINVA's assembly eliminates the risks, inspection costs, and administrative expenses associated with welded connections. By eliminating the need to drill into the pipe wall, NINVA prevents potential leaks and reduces problem areas during plant commissioning.
