Building on the established PaPIRs platform, PaPIRs+ introduces a significant performance improvement thanks to a redesign of the pyroelectric elements. The larger, optimized detection structures significantly enhance infrared absorption, resulting in up to twice the sensitivity compared to conventional PaPIRs sensors. This enables more precise detection of even the slightest movements at long distances and across wider areas, while also reducing blind spots.

The improved performance makes PaPIRs+ particularly well-suited for applications where sensing quality is critical, such as modern lighting control, HVAC systems, and smart building solutions. At the same time, the technology remains cost-effective, offering a substantial performance increase with only a marginal impact on system cost.

With the recent launch of the new "Flat Wide Detection Type" model, featuring an ultra-flat lens and a wide field of view, Panasonic demonstrates how PaPIRs+ combines high performance with a modern and discreet design. This allows for seamless integration into space-constrained environments such as offices, schools, and residential buildings, where aesthetics and functionality must go hand in hand.
