The ADF5610 offers exceptional performance and flexibility and is ideal for a variety of market applications, including aerospace and defense, wireless infrastructure, microwave point-to-point links, electronic testing and measurement, and satellite terminals.
The Analog Devices ADF5610 is a fractional-N wideband synthesizer that generates RF outputs from 57 MHz to 14.6 GHz with very low phase noise performance. Compared to solutions requiring multiple narrowband GaAs voltage-controlled oscillators and phase-locked loops (PLLs), the ADF5610 offers 50 percent less power dissipation, a smaller footprint, and a simpler architecture, resulting in bill-of-materials savings and faster time to market.
Developed using Analog Devices' advanced silicon-germanium BiCMOS (SiGe) process, the ADF5610 enables low bit error rates. The integrated phase-locked loop (PLL) function provides fast frequency hopping and lock-up times (less than 50 μs when properly configured, including an appropriate loop filter).
The ADF5610 is fully compatible with ADIsimPLL™, Analog Devices' comprehensive and easy-to-use PLL synthesizer simulation and design tool for evaluating phase noise, lock time, jitter, and other design considerations. The device is also customer-programmable using the integrated SPI interface and control software.
