The AUIR08152S buffer gate driver allows you to use any standard low-current gate driver, optocoupler, or CMOS circuit breaker to control large IGBT or MOSFET devices in switching applications. It efficiently powers any gate driver with a low supply voltage, transforming it into a high-current control system. This highly integrated buffer IC, supplied in a compact SO8 package, can replace up to 10 discrete components, resulting in a simpler, smaller, and more robust system design.
The new device's very low output impedance and low power losses enable operation in harsh environments and at high temperatures. The AUIR08152S also incorporates negative Vgs control and continuous-mode conduction capability thanks to its integrated PMOS output in parallel with the NMOS pull-up resistor on the high-side. Separate OUTH and OUTL outputs allow the selection of two different external resistors to load and discharge the gate, which is essential for controlling the effects of EMI and CdV/dT in high-power motor control and power supply applications.
This IC is approved to AEC-Q100 standards, supplied in a standard SO-8 package, and features an environmentally friendly, lead-free, and RoHS-compliant bill of materials. It is also part of IR's Automotive Quality Initiative, which aims for zero defects.
Production orders are available immediately; datasheets and approval standards are available on the International Rectifier website.
