The Allegro A1337 and A1338 devices feature a system-on-a-chip (SoC) architecture that includes a CVH front end, digital signal processing, and SPI, SENT, or PWM digital outputs. They also incorporate built-in EEPROM technology, capable of supporting up to 100 read/write cycles, for flexible programming of end-of-line calibration parameters. Both devices are ideal for automotive applications requiring angle measurements from 0° to 360°, such as electronic power steering (EPS), seatbelt motor positioning systems, rotary PRNDLs, and acceleration systems. The A1338 is also suitable for industrial motor position sensing applications requiring high accuracy and minimal latency.
The A1337 and A1338 devices were designed with the requirements of safety-critical applications in mind. They include user-controlled L-BIST (Logic-Built-In Self-Test) and full signal path diagnostics to allow customers to determine if the IC is functioning correctly. Both devices support a low RPM mode for slower-speed applications and a high RPM mode for high-speed applications. High RPM mode is for applications requiring higher update rates to minimize errors due to latency. Low RPM mode is for applications requiring higher resolution while operating at lower angular speeds.
The A1337 device also includes revolution counter and low-power functions. Low-power mode allows the device to connect directly to the vehicle's battery and minimizes power consumption when the vehicle is in the key-off state. The revolution counter function allows the device to track 45° or 180° engine rotations when the part is in low-power mode, enabling it to monitor engine position even when the vehicle is in the key-off state.
The A1337 and A1338 devices are available in two package options: a 14-pin single-pill TSSOP and a 24-pin dual-pill TSSOP. Both packages are lead-free with 100% matte lead plating.
