The OSD3358 SiP device is designed to help developers using the BeagleBone Black Wireless SBC platform (or any Sitara processor-based design) move from prototype to manufacturing effortlessly.
Octavo Systems' OSD3358 SiP, available from Mouser Electronics, simplifies the design of application-specific motherboards based on the Sitara AM3358 processor. The device integrates the BeagleBone Black core, the AM3358 processor, the TI TPS65217C Power Management IC (PMIC), the TL5209 Low Dropout (LDO) voltage regulator, 512 MB of DDR3 SDRAM, and over 140 passive components into a single BGA package. Through this integration, the OSD3358 eliminates the power sequencing and DDR-to-processor interface complexities typical of the design process. At the same time, the single package simplifies the supply chain and facilitates low-cost manufacturing.
The OSD3358 device is fully compatible with the BeagleBone Black Wireless, an open-source, high-expansion Linux computer created by the BeagleBoard.org Foundation and designed for powerful Internet of Things (IoT) applications. Developers can prototype software on the BeagleBone Black Wireless and then seamlessly port it to custom boards that include the OSD3358 SiP without any performance loss.
