This is the first model belonging to a family that will consist of models for different primary streams.
The IN 2000-S model offers an extended working temperature range of -40 to +85°C, compared to the usual temperature range of +10 to +40 or +50°C of traditional 2000 A high-precision transducers, allowing its use in a wider variety of applications beyond laboratories, such as testing equipment for traditional industrial applications, medical equipment (e.g., MRI, proton therapy, etc.), precision motor controllers, and counters.
This new transducer is based on LEM's patented innovations, enabling it to offer the highest level of signal processing in the digital domain, as well as applying a new approach to magnetic induction technology architecture for ripple cancellation at the magnetic induction drive frequency. These improvements have resulted in a compact transducer that maintains its high accuracy over a wider temperature range, with a reduced noise level compared to the previous generation.
The ability to perform signal processing in the digital domain offers complete immunity to the effects of temperature, interference, and variations in the supply voltage after the A/D converter. Specifically, offset and offset drift have been improved.
The DSP (Digital Signal Processor) has also been used to reduce interference or ripple in the magnetic induction control signal at a fixed frequency, which has succeeded in reducing harmonics at higher frequencies.
The remaining interference has been eliminated by the “ripple compensation coil”, whose amplitude and phase are adjusted during the calibration of each transducer.
After calibration, the remaining peak-to-peak ripple is less than 50 ppm relative to the full-scale transducer output across the entire operating temperature range of -40°C to 85°C.
These innovations help the IN 2000-S model deliver high performance across the extended temperature range, providing extremely high accuracy with linearity and low offset better than 3 ppm and 10 ppm, respectively.
A 200-turn test winding is supplied to check the operation of the transducer using a current of 1 A without interfering with its installation in hard-to-reach systems.
The IN 2000-S is designed to operate from a +/-15 V DC bipolar power supply and uses 70 mm diameter round primary conductors. In addition to its standard current output, the transducer provides an additional output that indicates the transducer's status (low or high output levels) and an external LED that indicates normal operation.
An equivalent product would usually consist of 2 pieces, the measuring head and the electronic processing, while this new model proposes a compact design that integrates everything into one, thus allowing various mounting topologies (flat or vertical).
The transducer is CE marked and comes with a five-year warranty from LEM.
