These two families together underscore Microchip's commitment to delivering higher voltage and efficiency levels, as well as the industry trend toward smaller power conversion systems.
The MCP19035 is a family of analog-based PWM drivers consisting of integrated synchronous MOSFET drivers that offer exceptional transient performance. MCP19035 devices operate over a wide 4.5–30VDC range, feature a 300 kHz switching frequency, and offer factory dead-time tuning, allowing designers to optimize performance across a broad selection of MOSFET devices. When combined with Microchip's MCP87xxx MOSFETs, the MCP19035 family provides high-efficiency (>96%) DC/DC power conversion solutions.
The MCP87xxx family of high-speed MOSFETs offers very low factors of merit and is available in standard 5x6 mm and 3.3x3.3 mm PDFN packages. The MCP87022, MCP87050, and MCP87055 MOSFETs offer on-resistance of 2.2 mΩ, 5.0 mΩ, and 5.5 mΩ, respectively, enabling high-efficiency power conversion designs.
The MCP87xxx MOSFET family also complements Microchip's portfolio of PIC® microcontrollers and dsPIC33 “GS” digital signal controllers specifically designed for switched-mode power supplies. Microchip's MCP14700 synchronous MOSFET driver is ideal for controlling high-speed, low-factor MOSFETs. When controlled by a microcontroller, both provide a flexible, high-performance power conversion solution.
An Excel-based loss calculator and user guide are also available as a complement to the MCP87xxx MOSFET family; both can be downloaded free of charge from microchip.com/get/VC8M.
The MCP19035 and MCP87xxx families are now available for sampling and volume production. The MCP19035 family is supplied in a 10-pin, 3x3 mm DFN package, while the MCP87022 and MCP87050 are supplied in 8-pin, 5x6 mm PDFN packages, and the MCP87055 in an 8-pin, 3.3x3.3 mm PDFN package.
