The IRGP47xx family of IGBTs, for a current range of 15A to 90A, utilizes trench-threaded technology to reduce conduction and switching losses, resulting in greater system efficiency. Supplied as discrete encapsulated devices with a soft recovery diode featuring a low Qrr, these new IGBTs are optimized for ultrafast switching (8kHz-30kHz), offer a short-circuit response time of 6µs, and a positive VCE(ON) temperature coefficient for easy paralleling. Their higher breakdown voltage provides added reliability under extreme weather conditions and AC line instability, eliminating the need for voltage suppression devices.
The IRGP47xx family is designed for a wide switching frequency range and features a low VCE(ON) of 1.7V (typical) at 100°C and low total switching energy (TSE) to reduce power dissipation. They are offered as packaged devices, and other key features include a maximum junction temperature of 175°C and low EMI for improved reliability.
