Intel Block DiagramROHM's latest PMIC, the BD9596MWV, integrates an intelligent power core with transient load response, as well as a 16-channel power supply consisting of a 2-channel DC/DC driver, a 3-channel DC/DC regulator, a 2-channel IMVP7 Lite driver, an 8-channel LDO, and a 1-channel load switch, all in a single 10mm² package. This eliminates the need for users to develop and verify their own complex power supply solution, which would require intricate sequencing and associated circuit design with multiple analog components on a larger board area.

It also incorporates the boot sequence and clock function, compatible with the Intel® Atom™ E3800 processor family (typically controlled by a microcontroller), significantly reducing design effort for the customer. ROHM's PMICs also reduce the mounting footprint by 50% and require 40% fewer devices compared to other discrete configurations, thus contributing to the miniaturization of the final product and its increased reliability. Other features include multiple protection circuits (such as UVLO, TSD, SCP, and OVP), a wide operating temperature range (-40°C to 95°C), and a built-in power supply that operates from 3.5V and remains stable even during supply voltage drops, ensuring compatibility even in automotive applications.
