It includes a 5V full-bridge power stage and efficiently integrates all the functions necessary to control power transfer with a Qi-compatible receiver. The NXQ1TXH5 delivers up to 8W of continuous power to a Qi-compatible A5, A11, A12, or A16 type transmitter coil and requires minimal external components, reducing application costs and enabling a simple PCB design for wireless power chargers and transmitters.
The NXP NXQ1TXH5 Qi transmitter uses dedicated analog "ping" circuitry to detect devices, achieving an extremely low standby power consumption of 10 mW. The NXQ1TXH5 provides reliable dual-channel ASK (Amplitude Shift Keying) communication and controls wireless power transfer from the transmitter to the receiver, while monitoring for fault conditions such as overheating or interference from metal objects. The device is optimized to operate from a USB power supply and uses intelligent power limiting (SPL) to automatically adjust output power and compensate for limited power supplies. Static power reduction (SPR) allows multiple NXQ1TXH5-based transmitters to operate from a single USB power source, limiting power consumption per device.
The NXQ1TXH5 is available in a 32-pin, 5 x 5 mm HVQFN package with low electromagnetic interference (EMI) radiation, and is supported by the slim NXQ1TXH5DB1401 demo board with an integrated NXQ1TXH5 charger IC and an A11 Qi transmitter coil.
Mouser Electronics, Inc. now has the NXP Qi 5V NXQ1TXH5 single-chip wireless transmitter available. The NXQ1TXH5 is a fully integrated single-chip controller and driver IC, enabling engineers to design a Qi-WPC 1.2-compliant low-power wireless charger with foreign object detection (FOD).
