along with Microchip's secure key supply services for Qi 1.3 power transmitters. This new product is an all-in-one secure storage system that includes key supply for consumer and automotive subsystems.
The Qi 1.3 specification now mandates the addition of a secure storage subsystem with secure key provisioning, including X.509 certificates, to verify the source and quality of the certified power transmitter through encryption. When a receiver, such as a mobile phone, is placed on a Qi 1.3 power transmitter, it may initially accept a 5W charge or no charge at all. After successful authentication via X.509-based ECC, which proves the charger is a "non-hazardous" device, the phone will safely accept a 15W charge, significantly reducing charging time.
Microchip is now a WPC-licensed Certification Authority (CA) that not only offers solutions such as pre-configured secure storage subsystems that reduce complexity and development time, but also lowers the technical barrier to entry by handling the entire key procedure with the WPC root certificate authority on behalf of Microchip customers. By delivering a complete certified reference design that includes the application microcontroller, the Qi 1.3 software stack, secure storage subsystems with encryption libraries, and delivery services for automotive and consumer applications, Microchip is a comprehensive Qi 1.3 solutions provider.

- The Microchip ECC608 TrustFLEX is supported by the CryptoAuth Trust Platform Development Kit (DM320118)
- The TA100 will require either the TA100 8-pin SOIC Connection Board (AC164166) or the TA100 24-pin VQFN Connection Board (EV39Y17A) to connect to the CryptoAuth Trust Platform Development Kit
Microchip also offers the Trust Platform Design Suite software development tool for secure storage subsystems and a WPC-certified Qi1.3 reference design .
