The device includes a doubler and boost charge pump, a reverse charge pump, and two low-dropout (LDO) regulators. The boost charge pump has an input range of 4.5V to 16V and feeds the positive LDO post-regulator from its output, VOUT+. The reverse charge pump has an even wider input range (4.5V to 32V) and can be connected to either the input or output of the boost pump. The
negative LDO post-regulator is fed from the reverse charge pump's output, Vout-. The LTC3265 is ideal for applications requiring low-noise bipolar power supplies from high-voltage inputs, such as low-noise industrial generators, portable medical equipment, and automotive infotainment systems.
The positive and negative LDO regulators can each supply up to 50mA of output current with 100µVRMS output noise. Its output voltages can be adjusted independently between ±1.2V and ±32V using external resistor dividers to generate symmetrical or asymmetrical output rails.
The LTC3265's internal charge pumps operate in both low quiescent current Burst Mode® for maximum efficiency and constant frequency mode for minimal noise. In Burst Mode®, the LTC3265 uses only 135μA of quiescent current with both LDO regulators unloaded.
In constant frequency mode, the device operates at a fixed frequency of 500kHz or a programmed frequency between 50kHz and 500kHz using an external resistor. Other features of the IC include a minimal number of external components, stability with ceramic capacitors, soft-start circuitry to prevent excessive current flow during power-up, and thermal and short-circuit protection.
The LTC3265 is available in an 18-pin low-profile (0.75mm) 3mm x 5mm DFN package and a 20-pin TSSOP package, both with a rear thermal pad. The junction temperature range for Grade E and I chips is -40°C to 125°C, regardless of the package. Grade H chips operate between -40°C and 150°C, while Grade MP chips operate between -55°C and 150°C. These devices are in stock, with a starting price of $4.03 per piece for Grade E in each package type.

Booster charge pump and high-voltage reversing charge pump provide low-noise dual output with ±50mA LDO post-regulators
Linear Technology Corporation announces the LTC3265, a highly integrated, high-voltage, dual-output, low-noise power supply that uses a single input source (VIN_P) and generates low-noise bipolar rails up to ±2•VIN_P without inductors.
