The new sensors offer a suite of advanced features, including global burst and trigger-controlled shooting modes, as well as conventional tilt-bar triggering, with speeds up to 92 frames per second (FPS) for the VITA 2000 and 75 FPS for the VITA 5000. They also feature 10-bit analog-to-digital (A/D) converters with parallel or serial outputs up to 620 Mbps. Programmable registers control the different operating modes, configurable via a standard SPI interface.

The VITA 2000 can output in two standard formats: HD (1920 x 1080), commonly used in the security market, and 4:3 (1600 x 1200), widely used in the machine vision market. The sensor array has a standard 2/3" optical format lens and offers four parallel LVDS channels.

The VITA 5000 features a standard 1” optical format with monochrome or digital color output. Instant burst shooting capability allows exposure during output readout to reduce motion blur. The sensor also operates in tilt-shoot mode with Correlated Double Sampling (CDS) to reduce noise and increase dynamic range. It offers eight parallel LVDS channels.
