There are similarly sized sensors that operate on the triangulation principle but have a maximum range of 1 m. The OADM 250 is suitable for applications requiring distance measurements between 0.2 m and 4 m. Thanks to special calibration, the measurement is independent of the object's color and surface properties. Its repeatability (+/- 5 mm), linearity (+/- 20 mm), and short measurement repetition rate of 10 ms enable accurate measurements even for moving objects.
The sensor's compact design facilitates integration into the application, especially during component replacement. The integrated standard alarm output enhances process safety. This output indicates if the sensor is unable to interpret the received signal due to contamination.
The OADM 250's measuring range can be adjusted using Baumer's simple standard teach-in process via the teach-in button or connector cable. The robust metal housing, washable glass, and IP67 protection rating ensure high durability, even in harsh industrial applications.
