programmable-hall-effect-sensors-wBoth are supplied pre-programmed at the factory to the precise specifications of the Hall effect or latching switch, thus delivering tailored results that meet the specific requirements of the customer's application.

The MLX92211 is designed for applications requiring the magnetic latching characteristics of the Hall effect. The MLX92231 covers applications requiring the magnetic behavior of a Hall effect switch. An innovative 32-bit unique identification code on each sensor provides traceability throughout its entire operational life.

Built using proprietary mixed-signal CMOS process technology, the MLX92231 and MLX92211 ICs integrate a Hall effect sensing element with an advanced offset cancellation mechanism, a voltage regulator, and an open-drain output driver, and are supplied in standard 3-pin SIP and TSOT23 packages. Their programmable architecture allows for very precise switching trigger levels, and a factory-programmed thermal compensation value can be set. These features simplify the manufacturing of accurate and thermally stable sensor modules using low-cost magnetic materials, thus avoiding complex and expensive temperature testing.

These AEC-Q100 approved devices cover a wide operating voltage range (2.7V to 24V) and an extensive operating temperature range (-40°C to +150°C), making them particularly suitable for use in demanding automotive and industrial applications. Output current limiting, undervoltage lockout, and thermal shutdown ensure continuous reliability and shorten the bill of materials. Automotive applications for the MLX92231 and MLX92211 include seat adjustment systems, clutch position sensors, and brake light sensors. Both ICs are also suitable for position sensing functions in industry, robotics, industrial automation equipment, material handling, valve positioning, and process control.

The MLX92231 and MLX93311 can operate at low voltage, which differentiates them from other Hall effect sensors on the market and allows their connection to microcontrollers and other digital ICs connected to power lines.
