The VE9 series of adhesive ventilation elements allows for the design of outdoor electronic enclosures with standard gaskets and seals, eliminating the need for more expensive, robust replacement parts. This results in cost savings and extended product lifespan for telecommunications applications such as base station batteries and tower electronic enclosures.
The VE9 Series adhesive vent element integrates easily into an enclosure thanks to the adhesive's strength and the all-ePTFE construction, allowing the vent element to be installed on either the exterior or interior of the enclosure depending on the protection rating requirements. This gives enclosure manufacturers design flexibility and cost savings while increasing reliability. When combined with Gore's UL-listed ePTFE membrane, this product delivers a typical airflow of 1150 ml/min/cm². This ensures rapid pressure equalization from sudden temperature changes while still meeting industry standards. In addition to high airflow, the VE9 Series elements are durable enough to withstand water, dust, dirt, rain, and other harmful liquids that commonly cause problems for unvented outdoor enclosures.
The new VE9 series of adhesive vents is the latest addition to Gore's adhesive vent lineup and is available in several sizes. Gore also offers a full range of metal and plastic screw-on vents with various thread types. GORE® Protective Vents help improve product performance and extend the life of sensitive electronic components by balancing pressure and managing condensation inside the case.
