The new range comprises three 100V products for 48V power lines in industrial equipment and six 60V products for 24V systems.
These product launches are a direct response to current market trends, where industrial equipment power lines are transitioning from conventional 12V and 24V systems to 48V systems to reduce energy consumption. Since inrush current and surges on 48V lines can cause the voltage to exceed 50V or even 80V, MOSFETs with a 100V voltage rating are required to ensure reliable operation. Furthermore, as supply voltages increase, greater efficiency, lower losses, and smaller sizes are required. In response to these market trends, Toshiba has developed products for both 48V and 24V lines, the latter being the most common today.
To meet the diverse requirements of modern industrial equipment, these products are available in three different package types. Designers prioritizing versatility and ease of implementation can use the 2.9 mm x 2.4 mm SOT-23F package, which offers a power dissipation of 1 W. For applications requiring higher power dissipation and excellent heat dissipation, the 1.5 W TSOP6F package, measuring 2.9 mm x 2.8 mm, is available. For designs where miniaturization is critical, the UDFN6B package offers an ultra-compact, space-saving solution, typically measuring 2.0 mm x 2.0 mm and with a power dissipation rating of 1.25 W.
Despite their compact size, all three package types maintain low on-state resistance (RDS(ON)), significantly reducing power consumption in the equipment. This combination of high efficiency, low losses, and small size enables a wide range of applications, from industrial programmable logic controllers (PLCs), inverters/servomotors, and servers to consumer appliances such as LED lights, water heaters, water purifiers, and robotic vacuum cleaners.
