OptocouplersThe TLP700H and TLP701H are supplied in SDIP6 packages and are designed to directly drive power IGBTs and MOSFETs without the need for additional components. Applications include consumer digital products, test and measurement equipment, industrial control systems, and induction heating.


The maximum current rating is +/-2.0 A for the TLP700H and +/-0.6 A for the TLP701H. Despite their size (the mounting area is barely half that of a standard DIP8 package), each device offers a minimum voltage withstand of 5000 Vrms. This allows designers to meet insulation requirements exceeding those demanded for international safety certification.


The TLP700H and TLP701H optocouplers feature totem-type output logic snubber and incorporate internal noise protection to provide guaranteed minimum common-mode transient immunity of +/- 20 kV/ms and +/- 15 kV/ms, respectively. The low maximum supply current (3 mA for the TLP700H and 2 mA for the TLP701H) helps keep power consumption to a minimum.
With wide input supply ranges of 15 V to 30 V (TLP700H) and 10 V to 30 V (TLP701H), the new optocouplers increase design flexibility and reduce the number of components, minimizing the need for power conversion circuitry. The maximum switching times for both devices are 500 ns and 700 ns, respectively.
