Leddar's proprietary technology enables highly efficient optical detection and coverage devices. Sensors incorporating LeddarCore will benefit from three unique advantages:
- High sensitivity, enabling the detection of objects that reflect a very weak light signal, providing a superior balance between range and power for consistent short- and long-range performance;
- Immunity to noise and lighting conditions, for robust detection capabilities in complex environments and low-visibility situations;
- Powerful signal processing, enabling fast and accurate measurements of multiple targets simultaneously, as well as special awareness within the sensors' field of view.
Offered through single or multiple photodetector element configurations, LeddarCore comes with development tools, including a classification board, reference design, sample code, and signal processing libraries. Software tools and documentation are also provided to facilitate setup, tuning, and calibration. With its small size, chipset weight, and all the advantages of Leddar sensor technology, LeddarCore sets the standard for the next generation of time-of-flight and battery-based optical sensing solutions. LeddarTech plans to ship the first LeddarCore units in the fourth quarter of 2015.
