IRampliasugamaThe IR3551 offers a maximum operating current of 50A, is optimized for high-end multiphase solutions with processors and DDR memory, and achieves peak efficiency of 94.5 percent at 1.2V output. The new device integrates a synchronous buck gate driver, a control and synchronous MOSFET with a top-tier factor of merit, and a Schottky diode, all in a small, high-density, low-profile PQFN package measuring 6 mm x 5 mm.


The IR3551 footprint is compatible with the IR3550 and IR3553. With a single circuit layout and the option to choose from various plug-and-play PowIRstage products, customers can now select the best value solution, eliminating the risk of having to redesign the board due to changing requirements.


The IR3551, IR3550, and IR3553 models utilize IR's advanced silicon integration, packaging, and control techniques to achieve a high-current-density, high-efficiency power solution. PowIRstage devices enable system-level scalability in high-current, high-efficiency, multi-phase configurations. The resulting system solution can often be achieved with fewer phases and in a smaller board footprint than alternative solutions.


IR's PowIRstage products also provide an integrated current-sensing amplifier that achieves superior current-sensing accuracy and greater noise immunity compared to the best controller-based inductor DCR sensing methods. The IR3551, IR3553, and IR3550 models are fully PWM-compatible with IR's CHiL® digital power control products, as well as most standard PWM controllers on the market.
